The painter Timur Lukas (born 1986 in Constance, lives and works in Munich) shows excerpts from his childhood memories in his latest works. He invites the viewer into his grandmother’s fragmented living room. The window, the vase and the forest are the main objects in Lukas‘ abstract memory paintings: The foreground and background seem to blur on the canvas, as do memory and fantasy. Playing with imagination and experience, the painter also expands this practice in sculptural and installation works in the exhibition space.
The catalogue Der Wald vor Omas Fenster documents the exhibition of the same name at the NAK. Neuer Aachener Kunstverein and his participation in the double exhibition Unite! Limbo Forest at the Kunstverein Augsburg. The texts were written by Matthias Dornfeld, Maurice Funken, Manuela Mehrwald and Christian Thöner.
